I. EMPATHIC CENTEREDNESS
Dear Empathic Friends,
Empathic people are caught in a web right now. People all across the world
are in shock, feeling anger, grief, suspicion, and fear. As an empathic
person, you are at risk of being bombarded by all this intense energy, and
feeling it within your own being. No one person should or can take in the
intensity of millions of people's fears, so it is very important at this
time to consider self-preservation a priority.
As an empathic person, you have a choice to make right now. The media is
throwing out alarming bits and pieces. Everyone is speculating. Everyone
is afraid. Do you succumb to this literal tsunami of emotion? Or do you
rally all your will to connect with your center of power, and find solace
and strength in your own knowing? As an empathic person, the answers are
within you regarding your best course of action in these trying times.
Letters are circulating by the thousands now calling for prayers of peace.
As empathic people, we feel others' pain and want desperately to help. But
remember that your efforts will have the best effect when you are centered
in a place of strength and calm, not coming from desperation or fear. By
centering and taking care of yourself at this time, you will help spread
calm and peace all around you.
As empathic people, we talk a lot about how receptive (or sometimes
overly-receptive) we are to others' energy, but keep in mind that you are
just as PROJECTIVE. Empathic people have the ability to project emotions
just as strongly as we receive them. Our challenge now is to be aware of
what we are projecting - and do our part not to add to the fear, suspicion
and rage - but to project calm and strength. This is done easily by simply
connecting with your own center of strength and calm.
As an empathic person, you have the ability to affect others' emotion.
Others are no doubt already coming to you for reassurance and a safe place
to process their confusion. You cannot resolve their fears. But what you
can do is go within to a place of constancy, radiance and calm, and bring
that forth to shield and protect you, while also providing a calming force
for all you meet.

II. CENTERING MEDITATION
Sit quietly, with no distractions. Take in an easy, deep breath. Let
your lips part slightly, so your jaw relaxes. Let your arms feel heavy, so
your shoulders drop. Breathe easily.
Focus your attention to your solar plexus. This is the area of your body
between your chest and your abdomen. Focus all your attention on this
area, and see or sense a glowing, radiant sphere of energy there.
This sphere represents your inner strengths, your empathic gifts, and the
part of you that is constant and wise. Connect with this sphere and feel
its' energy. Notice what you see, hear, feel or sense in regard to this
sphere.
Now ask this sphere to grow larger and stronger. Feel its energy increase.
See it glowing more brightly.
Keep this sphere in place and retain your connection to it throughout your
day.
- End of meditation -
Pay special attention to any messages you receive from your sphere, which
may come in the form of words, images, feelings, or knowings.
Do this centering meditation several times a day. (You'll be able to do it
very quickly, no matter where you are, with just a little practice.) When
you are watching the news, or around people's heightened discussions, be
especially sure that you are connected with your sphere, and stay
connected! In doing so, you'll find that you are less swayed by the
currents around you, and you'll benefit yourself and everyone by
projecting calm and strength.

III. NEW RECOMMENDED FLOWER ESSENCES
This is a very challenging time, so we might as well turn to our friends,
the essences, who can help us navigate the murky waters and provide
unconditional support.
1. MOUNTAIN PENNYROYAL: Cleanses and expels negativity from your aura and
empathic sense
2. GOLDENROD: Helps you retain your individuality despite group or
societal pressure. (A challenge for all of us right now.)
3. YARROW: Of course, the yarrows can help heal us now, strengthening and
mending our auras and empathic protection.
And I also would like to recommend a flower essence that has a different
kind of focus, yet seems particularly appropriate:
4. FORGET-ME-NOT: Obviously, we should never forget the events of 9/11/01,
but on a deeper level Forget-me-not helps us humans understand the
soul-based karmic connections we all have. Everyone on the planet has been
and will be affected by these events. Forget-me-not guides us toward
greater understanding and acceptance of our human family, combating
loneliness and isolation in these otherwise confusing times.
The flower essences above are all available from FES (Flower Essence
Services),

IV. SUMMARY
In summary, I'd like to remind you that not only all people, but also the
plants, animals, and the earth itself have been hit by a tragedy of such
magnitude. Our empathic connection to all beings and the earth runs deep.
So can the pain we feel at this time. It is important to use the tools
above to connect with your true self and separate from the chaos to find
your own answers.
I wish you all peace & protection,
Dr. Mesich
